THE GOLDEN AGE OF HOLLYWOOD FILM COMPOSERS
Location: Sunken Ballroom, Portland Art Museum
Today we welcome Portland’s All Classical FM host Edmund Stone, producer of the nationally syndicated film music program "The Score," for a conversation with Kathryn Korngold, granddaughter of composer Erich Korngold, and Suzanna Moross, daughter of composer Jerome Moross. In addition to exploring the film music legacy of these titans of Hollywood's Golden Age—from Korngold's CAPTAIN BLOOD (1935) and Oscar-winning ROBIN HOOD (1938) to Moross's Oscar-nominated THE BIG COUNTRY (1958) and THE WAR LORD (1965), you'll hear how great soundtracks were created, along with anecdotes and stories about Hollywood, film clips, great movie music, and an opportunity for questions.
