The Ashland Independent Film Festival Announces New Festival Dates and Plans
ASHLAND, OREGON – The Ashland Independent Film Festival (AIFF) announces that its 21st Annual Festival, originally scheduled for April 14 – 28, will now take place virtually on their Eventive Channel from April 1 – 10. Due to the recent circumstances and news surrounding COVID-19, the organization made the decision to postpone their Live Festival to ensure the health and safety of their patrons, in addition to the community at large.
“Our community deserves the best that this festival has to offer, and we are selecting fantastic films that are entertaining and inspiring, keeping our Ashland audiences in mind!” says Roberta Munroe, Artistic Director. “This team of staff, interns, and volunteers are working around the clock to ensure that our members see a world of filmmaking that maintains a high standard worthy of film loving Ashland. Plus, all of our filmmakers are excited to screen their work specifically for Ashland!”
As Roberta mentioned, the AIFF Staff has been hard at work planning and building a festival experience for those who love independent film and can watch from the safety and comfort of their own homes.
AIFF’s Eventive Channel can be accessed on televisions from computers and mobile devices, or via Eventive’s Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, or Android TV apps. With an extremely robust and diverse program of independent films lined up, this is something that the community will not want to miss.
Cited by MovieMaker Magazine several times as one of the Top 25 Coolest Festivals in the World and one of the Top 50 Festivals Worth the Entry Fee, the Ashland Independent Film Festival (AIFF) is generally held annually in April in Southern Oregon. AIFF screens over 100 independent documentary, narrative, animation, and short films to include in festival programming, in addition to other year-round programming in Ashland, which is nestled in the beautiful Rogue Valley. In response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, AIFF moved virtually for its 19th Annual Festival, extended its five-day event to twenty-four days, and was recognized by Smithsonian Magazine and MovieMaker Magazine as having one of the best virtual film festivals in 2020.
