Eastern Oregon Film Festival will celebrate its TENTH annual three-day event October 24-26 in La Grande, Oregon.
LA GRANDE – Festival-goers will be taken on a journey with this year’s film program. Opening night explores Milena Pastreich’s PIGEON KINGS, which documents a group of men in South Central LA who train pigeons for the competitive sport of Avian Acrobatics. Also screening is Taryn Southern and Elena Gaby’s sci-fi documentary exploring the co-evolution of humans and technology in I AM HUMAN. Closing out the festival will be Adam Khalil and Bayley Sweitzer’s haunting and inspiringly imaginative EMPTY METAL. In total, EOFF will be screening # films, from short to feature-length in narrative, documentary and experimental formats.

In addition to official selection screenings, EOFF will host a screening block featuring The Best of Northwest Filmmakers’ Festival presented by The Northwest Film Center in Portland, OR. A SECRET SCREENING is also slated for Saturday that showcases the work of a local filmmaker who took part in EOFF’s filmmaker project sponsor program. This “silent film” tells the story of a woman who receives troubling news about her apathetic boyfriend, which forces her into a critical decision. Director Benjamin Morgan’s unique short film stars local actors Jocelyn Berado and Gregory Rawlins.

Afterparty music events will be held at Hq following each day of screenings. Musical acts will include Seattle’s ‘Truck-stop rock” Sons of Guns, Portland, OR-based experimental duo Methods Body, Boise-based folk-rocker Nick Delffs, Sun Blood Stories – Psych-rock trio, also from Boise, and Portland-based Spaghetti-Western Rock-and-roll 7-piece Federale.
VENUES
Screenings will be held at Festival Hq (112 Depot Street), Wine Down, and Beckie’s Studio of Dance. A special Friday night screening of I AM HUMAN will screen at EOU’s McKenzie Theatre.

Passes are limited this year, general admission will be $10 at the door for each screening or after-party but will be subject to capacity limitations.
