NW Documentary’s Film “Summer Snapshot” to Screen in Hollywood, CA

SUMMER SNAPSHOT, produced by NW Documentary, and directed by Emmy Award winning filmmaker Ian McCluskey will be screening at the 8th annual HollyShorts Film Festival, which takes place August 9-16 at Grauman’s Chinese 6 in Hollywood. The organizers of HollyShorts (www.hollyshorts.com) announced the acclaimed short film SUMMER SNAPSHOT was selected from more than 1,000 entries from 20 countries in competition.

Described as “nostalgic, wistful, perfect,” by the Wall Street Journal, SUMMER SNAPSHOT plays out, shot by sun-kissed shot, an idyllic day at a mountain river where a group of friends spend an afternoon skinny-dipping, strumming guitars, and circling a campfire. Reminiscent of a 1970s home movie, Summer Snapshot is a nostalgic reflection on the fleeting window between youth and adulthood.

The film premièred at the largest festival of short films, France’s prestigious Clermont-Ferrand, and was selected for more than 50 of the world’s leading festivals including Tribeca and London.

“I’m excited to have my project in competition at this year’s HollyShorts,” said director Ian McCluskey. “It’s lovely to see the spirit of summer continue to be enjoyed and shared.” Following the success of Summer Snapshot, and his previous documentary Eloquent Nude, McCluskey is currently at work on his next project, a feature documentary, “Les Voyaguers Sans Trace.” (www.frenchkayakfilm.com)
