Bend, OR – June 25, 2012. Faceout Studio recently held a successful casting call event introducing emerging local talent to the various print and film related opportunities the studio has to offer. The energy was extremely positive as the packed out house learned more about how to be cast for book covers and short film projects. Faceout plans to hold another event later this summer. Faceout is collaborating with several partners to discover, recruit and train emerging talent in Bend for print and film related projects. This talent pool will be mentored and equipped to jump into the entertainment industry with some grounding, wisdom, a portfolio of work and refined professional skills.
Faceout has ongoing needs for casting models and actors. Faceout is committed to keeping as many of their productions in Bend. In an effort to build a viable channel for local talent to seek out opportunity and then be trained appropriately for professional work in this space, Faceout Studio has assembled a casting team and organized its first event to be held on June 18th at Faceout Studio in the Old Mill District. This inaugural event booked out very quickly but plans are in place to hold multiple events throughout the year.
The casting team behind this effort includes: Torrey Sharp, principal of Faceout Studio, Monica Watson, associate producer of Faceout Films, Shannon Bex and Kate Tuma. Monica Watson earned the prestigious title of Miss Oregon International in 2010 and currently works with many of the world’s largest media companies, including Disney, News Corporation, CBS Corporation, Bertelsmann and Pearson among others. Shannon Bex is a singer/dancer formerly of the multi-platinum selling, chart topping group Danity Kane, MTV’s “Making the Band” and NBC’s “Fame.” Bad Boy Records president Sean “Diddy” Combs created DK. Currently Shannon is fronting her own band “Bex.” Kate Tuma studied makeup in Nashville, Tennessee and is experienced in all aspects of makeup design including fashion, film, editorial, wedding, and everyday looks. Her work is featured in many magazines, advertisements, film, and book covers.
Faceout Studio is a market leading design firm and film production company. Since 1996, they have produced results for a broad range of national and international clientele. Over the years their work has been recognized by Communication Arts, the AIGA, Print magazine, Eye magazine, STEP magazine, Graphis, CMYK, Graphic Design: USA and the national American Advertising Federation. They have been invited to speak at various events hosted by the AIGA, AAUP, and the Shanghai Press and Publications Bureau.
