About The Faerie Godmother Fund of The Oregon Community Foundation

The Faerie Godmother Fund of The Oregon Community Foundation was founded in 2005 by Vikki Mee to specifically address the lack of representation of women in key positions behind the lens and in media executive ranks. On a good day, only 5-7% of the top 250 films are directed by women. This dearth of representation has a direct impact on the characterization of women in front of the camera and trickles down to the self-image of every young woman who goes to the movies, watches videos and is a consumer of all forms of new and old media.
