Governor's Conference on Toursim

Oregon Film

Over 500 people from the tourism industry were at the three day conference held at the River House Hotel and Conference center in Bend.  Governor Ted Kulongoski was in attendance and talked about the economic impact tourism has had on Oregon.  Of specific interest to the production community, the Governor acknowledged in his Monday morning address, a major growth in the amount of money film companies have spent in Oregon in the last few years, expanding from $10 million to $80.

Many people come by our booth and spent time talking with us.  Among them were members of our Local Liaison Program, vendors and government representatives who had experienced some production directly and wanted to find out more about the industry and how they could benefit from it.  We spent time showcasing our agency that has actively worked to build a film and video industry in Oregon as well as exploring potential partnerships with other exhibitors.
