Rogue Makes a Portlandia Beer and Bottle

When Rogue Ales was approached with the idea of creating a special beer bottle to support the IFC show “Portlandia”, without hesitation they said – sign us up!  The end result is a special “Portlandia” bottle (bottle artwork is above) which will be available at the “Portlandia” premiere in New York City on January 19.  Rogue is also talking to the group planning the Portland premiere next Friday to perhaps provide a few of these limited edition bottles.  This is not the first time Rogue has been supportive of the local film and TV scene in Oregon.  Continue reading... “Rogue Makes a Portlandia Beer and Bottle”

Portlandia Gets a Premiere Date

In today’s Oregonian Kristi Turnquist writes about IFC’s announcement of “Portlandia’s” premiere date.  I’ve had several conversations with IFC about their plans for promoting the show and I can say that the cable network is 100% behind “Portlandia”.  Expect to hear of some cool promotional efforts surrounding the show soon!  In the meantime, set your DVR’s for January 21 for the premiere episode!

Good Profile of “Portlandia’s” Carrie Brownstein

In case you haven’t already caught Aaron Mesh’s profile on Carrie Brownstein, here’s a link to the article.  Carrie’s diverse talents as musician, writer and actor make her a perfect representation of Portland’s creative class.  I don’t know if it’s because you need to be versatile to make a career in a small market like Oregon, or if it’s in the fabric of the region that creative professionals have many talents.

IFC Takes Comedy Journey to ‘Portlandia’

‘SNL’ vet Armisen co-created, co-stars in sketch series

IFC has given a greenlight to a Lorne Michaels-exec produced sketch comedy half-hour, “Portlandia,” co-created by and starring Fred Armisen of “Saturday Night Live.”

The series, which begins production of six episodes in Portland, Ore., this month, is scheduled to premiere on IFC in early 2011.
