“Tell Your Story” Grant Announces Winners!

The Oregon Made Creative Foundation (OMCF) is pleased to announce the winners of the “Tell Your Story” grant; Howard Mitchell, Emma Duvall, and Nic Popp.  This grant was funded through the Regional Arts and Culture Council (RACC) and was part of the CARES Act and is being provided by the RACC, OMCF, and  Oregon Film. Supporting and contributing sponsors include Cast Iron Studios, Oregon Media Production Association (OMPA), Willamette Writers, and Gearhead Grip.

“Tell Your Story” Grant – A Residency Opportunity For Portlanders – Now Accepting Applications

 

This single $10,000 grant will be awarded to the City of Portland BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Person of Color – including but not limited to Latinx, Asian American, and Pacific Islanders) creators or creative teams for a virtual-residency in order to develop, explore and/or shoot story(ies) applicants want to tell in any film format they choose.

The connections, insights, experience, access to physical office space (at the Oregon Film Office, if needed), and consultations with strategic supporting and contributing sponsors, will be made directly available to each of the winning creators for a period of six months.

A New #OregonMade Mural And Film Poster Exhibit For The Portland International Airport

 

The new #OregonMade Film History Mural and Poster Exhibit is located in the Portland International Airport’s south pedestrian tunnel which connects the parking garage to the terminal (underground between baggage claims 3 and 4.) It  provides travelers with over 160 uninterrupted feet ofmural art and posters, representing a small collection of Oregon’s rich film hist ory. By creating  this exhibit, we hope to aptly celebrate the unique and varied locations Oregon has to offer, the projects that have called Oregon home over the years, and the professional production communities that come together to make Oregon so film-friendly. Untitled Alan Ball HBO Drama series is scheduled to shoot in Portland April 24-26; open casting call this Saturday

PORTLAND, ORE. Cast Iron Studios, a Portland-based film and television casting company, announced today that it is seeking general background performers, experienced stand-ins, photo doubles, Portland hipster types, and extras who own vehicles, bicycles and pets for Alan Ball’s new HBO drama series.

The series will shoot scenes in the Portland area April 24-26, 2017.

Oregon Media Production Community Rolls Out Red Carpet, Honors Best Local Performances Of The Year

The annual 2015 Oregon Actors Awards took place at the Portland Center Stage, to a packed house over the week end.  The awards recognized outstanding members of Oregon’s film, video and multimedia industry.  Four awards were given to film, TV and commercial actors, and one for community service.

Casting and Development Company Announces Call for Screenplay Submissions

PORTLAND, ORE. Cast Iron Studios announced today that is seeking feature-length screenplays under 120 minutes that are set in Oregon for development consideration. All genres, excluding horror and sci-fi, are welcome.
