The short film Nowheres Wolf: A Call Not Answered is inspired by the life of Oregon’s famous wolf named Journey, aka OR-7. The film is mid-production and starting to take off, hitting some heartfelt points in the film and animation industry including developing non-toxic building materials for artists and makers as well as advocating for local wildlife.
Curious Comedy Theater has four upcoming video production intensive workshops for live video production! These are single workshops with four separate opportunities for it to fit into your schedule.
This intensive is taught by Luke Zwanziger and will give you an overview of the production gear in the live video studio at Curious Comedy Theater. In this 4 hour intensive you get a crash course on the basics of how to operate a Tricaster 8000 AE, PTZ Cameras, basic live audio control, Live Video Direct, Technical Direct, and Camera Operate for a live show as well as how to create a livestream for Facebook or YouTube.
The Portland Oregon Women’s Film Festival is excited to announce the POWGirls workshops for spring and summer of 2019. The POWGirls Media Education Program launched in March of 2014 and has hosted thirteen successful workshops, producing 19 films and serving over 100 girls and non-binary youth in the Portland metro area.
Our mission is to help girls and non-binary youth, 15-19, realize their power, creativity and voice in media production and encourage them to explore opportunities as future media-makers. Sound design is not about software, catchy music or cool sounding effects. It’s about emotional response: how a combination of dialogue, music, sound effects, designed sounds and backgrounds supports character development and the dramatic elements of the story. This workshop will explore how powerful sound can be by looking deeply at different artistic choices and their influences the meaning of a scene. The different stages and workflow of sound design will be discussed in detail, from reading the script, to reviewing the rough cut and the final mix. Our instructors are working media producers who inspire participants to be creative, tech-savvy leaders who will help realize gender equity in the film industry. All films produced during POWGirlsworkshops are screened at the Portland Oregon Women’s Film Festival (POW Film Fest).
