“A Perfect Day for Caribou” Screens at Cinema 21 on August 15

To anyone reading – hi, my name is Jeff Rutherford.

In May 2021, I went into the high desert of Central Oregon with a few friends and shot a feature film. Over the course of that summer, we edited that film in a little house off SE Division St. And then a year later, we premiered that film, which is called A PERFECT DAY FOR CARIBOU, in Cineasti del presente at the 75th Locarno Film Festival. Now a year after the world premiere, we’re bringing the film home for one night only. Continue reading... ““A Perfect Day for Caribou” Screens at Cinema 21 on August 15”

SAG-AFTRA Offers Indie Productions “Interim Agreements” During Strike

Prior to the start of TV/Theatrical/Streaming negotiations, SAG-AFTRA made the decision to allow producers, who may otherwise fall within the scope of the strike order, to apply for an Interim Agreement. These Agreements are for projects that have been confirmed to be separate from the AMPTP and entirely independent.

The Interim Agreement is not a waiver. It is a contract that includes all terms and conditions for producers looking to employ SAG-AFTRA members on their specific independent productions.

The union thoroughly vets and approves each and every project seeking an Interim Agreement. Continue reading... “SAG-AFTRA Offers Indie Productions “Interim Agreements” During Strike”

Oregon Film – Do You Know Who We Are and What We Do? (June 2023)

“What does Oregon Film do?”  Do you know?

We’re the state film office. Or, the State Film Commission. Or, Oregon Film as some call it. And, as such, we are tasked with growing the film, television, commercial, interactive, and media industry here in Oregon. We bring attention to, elevate, and support the industry in many different ways.

Project support. We think that Customer Service means a great deal.
