Oscar- and Emmy-winning filmmaker Will Vinton will be the keynote presentation at the 5th Annual McMinnville Short Film Festival on October 3, 2015.  As a Director and Producer of 3D animation, Will Vinton has won virtually every film and television award given a filmmaker – several hundred in total. Will directed and produced the world’s first all Claymation feature film, the critically acclaimed ADVENTURES OF MARK TWAIN. Oregon Film Office and Local Scouts Get LMGA Award Nominations

The Second Annual Location Managers Guild of America (LMGA) Awards announced the finalists this week.  The Oregon Governor’s Office of Film & Television, as well as local scouts, Crofton Diack, Mike Floyd, Alissa Desler and Lori Allen have been nominated for consideration for  Location Managers Guild of America  Awards.  Oregon Film for the “exemplary work on WILD“, Diack and Floyd for Outstanding Locations in a Single Commercial (Nissan Altima, “Migration” – see below)http://youtu.be/nlUDk2qkV5I and Desler and Allen for Outstanding Locations in a Commercial Campaign  (Subaru Outback). Fusion Documentary Challenge Call for Entries

The Fusion Documentary Challenge allows you to create short documentaries (4-7 minutes) in five days from start to finish. You will get to choose the five days they would like to make their film between now and November 5, 2014. Contestants will be given the theme of this year’s challenge and get to choose between two given genres.

The top 20 films receive an exclusive 18-month licensing deal with Fusion to feature these films on Fusion’s broadcast and digital platforms. The top 12 films as determined by an esteemed panel of judges will premiere at Slamdance Film Festival in January 2015 in Park City. Roy W. Dean Fall Filmmaker Grant Now Accepting Applications

Applications are now being accepted for the Roy W. Dean Fall Grant.   The grant gives filmmakers a chance to get their films going or completed with an award of $2,500 in cash and $30,000 in film products and services.  Films can be documentaries, short films, and features and must be unique and contribute to society. Deadline for submission is September 30th, 2014
