2017 Portland Indie Film Awards: Let’s Diversify.

Jerry Bell Jr of JBJR Productions presents the 2nd Annual Portland Indie Film Awards entitled “2017 Portland Indie Film Awards: Let’s Diversify” to be held on Friday, April 14th from 7pm until midnight.

This event acknowledges and celebrates the Portland indie film community. Last year’s theme was to “Draw A Bigger Circle” which helped lure local industry professionals out of their silos in order to collaborate, develop, and grow together. This year’s theme, “Let’s Diversify,” is a collaborative effort designed to give voice and vision to more women and minority film makers in the community. “Displaced,” running Jan 20 to 28 at Portland’s Abbey Arts in Portsmouth as part of the Fertile Ground Festival, is an innovative documentary theatre experience that gives us a new and powerful way to connect with the phenomenon of homelessness and the extraordinary value of those who see us, even though we have forgotten that they exist. Seaside was shot in Portland and the Coast in April with some great New York actors, including Ariana DeBose (Hamilton), and some wonderful Portland actors, including Jana Lee Hamblin, Haley Talbot, Bob Olin, Victoria Blake, Jennie Vaughn, and Brandt Leeds, all cast by Simon Max Hill.

Portland producer is Alyssa Roehrenbeck, Cinematographer Phil Anderson, and Production Designer Jade Harris. And our composer, Megan Diana McGeorge, is the creator of Portland’s Piano.Push.Play.

“The Librarians” S3 Premieres Sunday

"The Librarians" Season 3TNT’s drama, “The Librarians” will  return to screens this Sunday, November 20th. The opening episode will feature the submarine that is parked outside OMSI, as well as many other Portland locations.

Cast Iron Studios, TNT & Film Offices Teamed Up To Repeat Talent Diversity Initiative

Last year, Cast Iron Studios and TNT–along with Act Now Studio and Scott Rogers Studios–hosted the first Northwest Talent Diversity Initiative. The 36-hour intensive acting course gave 32 performers of color the opportunity to hone their chops with two of Portland’s finest acting coaches and a myriad of guest speakers, at no cost to the actors.

The Falls: Covenant of Grace IndieGoGo Campaign

The Falls:Covenant of Grace, the third installment of The Falls series hopes to film in Portland this summer. It is a trilogy written and directed by Jon Garcia about two gay Mormon men and the struggles of LGBT individuals of faith.    We currently have an IndieGoGo campaign going until early July to help us reach our goal.
