OpenLens Film Festival Calls for Entries

Eugene, Oregon. The Downtown Initiative for the Visual Arts (DIVA Center) announces its Seventh Annual OpenLens Short Film/Video Competition call for entries.  The deadline for submissions is 5PM December 1st. Screening and awards will take place during the three-day OpenLens Festival event – January 28th, 29th, and 30th, 2011.

Categories include but are not limited to narrative, documentary, animation, and experimental.Entries are accepted from film and video artists living in the Oregon.Film/video submissions are limited to 15 minutes or less with shorter work preferred.

Festival prizes include: $500 – Best Of Festival Jury Award; $200 – Honorable Mention Jury Award; and a$100 – Audience Choice Award.

This is the signature event of the 2011 OpenLens Festival weekend and is a celebration of the independent spirit in Oregon filmmaking. It provides an opportunity for Oregon film/video artists to showcase their work in a small intimate competitive event that focuses on emerging filmmakers.The competition accepts work by artist living in the Oregon and filmmakers from across the state are encouraged to enter.

  1. Tom Diskin made a short film about small business entrepreneurs in southern Oregon. “If we want the next generation to have a Bright Future, we need to help them to create one.”
