Make a Public Service Ad. Win Coffee with Gus Van Sant.

Northwest Health Foundation is now accepting submissions for a new video contest that combines creativity with public health to communicate important, sometimes surprising messages to Oregonians.

With the “Public Health Matters” Video Contest, the Foundation is challenging Oregon’s professional video producers, filmmakers, and film students to create 30-second public service advertisements (PSAs) that focus on public health. These PSAs should creatively demonstrate how our communities benefit from Oregon’s public health system and its county health departments.

The grand prize winning individual or team will receive $3,000, a private meeting with Oscar-nominated director Gus Van Sant, and a chance to see their PSA air in select Oregon markets.

All submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. Pacific on August 15, 2010.
